F4U CORSAIR
Arguably the most capable carrier-based fighter/bomber of WWII, the Corsair is easily identified by its unique gull-wing design, necessitated by the tail landing gear which was in turn, necessitated by the huge propeller required to propel the plane at the desired high speeds.
