Flyboy Art is owned and operated by Mark Baker and Scott Wallace. We started this company in 2004 with a simple goal — to preserve what we think are important pieces of aviation history. With Mark growing up next to Griffis Air Force Base in Rome, New York and myself near Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, we've both been fascinated by warbirds since childhood. We now live in Atlanta, Georgia, away from the bases, but still find ourselves dreaming of warbirds. Like most enthusiasts, we build scale models, collect warbird prints and travel to museums and air shows on a regular basis.
Unfortunately, neither of us can afford an actual warbird, so awhile back we started talking about how exciting it would be to own a piece of these incredible and historic aircraft. After a few months of research, numerous phone calls and road trips to bone yards, we discovered that if you look hard enough, there are original propeller blades from some of the world’s greatest fighting aircraft scattered about the country. A majority of these propellers are no longer flight worthy by FAA standards, but I think you’ll agree with us that their real value lies both with their aesthetic beauty and historical significance. So we’ve developed museum quality bases to display these rare pieces of aviation history.
The propeller blades you see on the following pages are the definition of rare. Each one is as unique as the aircraft they served. They were manufactured for the aircraft depicted with them, in an era of aviation long since passed. We have a very limited supply, and our inventory changes frequently. Check back in with us from time to time to see what have in stock. If you’re looking for a propeller from a specific aircraft, let us know and we’ll try to locate one for you.
